Summary of review and consultation process

An advisory group was formed with specialist carpet cleaners, suppliers to the industry, and trainers involved.   They reviewed the unit standards in detail and revised definitions and terminology to reflect world-wide changes in the carpet cleaning industry.  As part of the consultation process various drafts went out to industry for comment and feedback.   The responses received from industry were incorporated in an ongoing process of refining the changes.  Industry best practice guidelines were incorporated into the revised unit standards where appropriate.   Ranges were broadened to include a greater range of possible options.
