The Hospitality Standards Institute has completed the review of the unit standards listed above that were registered in February 2000.

Summary of review and consultation process

 

In April 2004, an advisory group was established by the Hospitality Standards Institute to conduct the review.  The advisory group consisted of stakeholders representing both training providers and industry.

 

Draft unit standards incorporating the agreed changes to the standards were circulated amongst the advisory group members for comment and verification.

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

·               Some performance criteria relating to legislation and evidence requirements were moved to Special Notes

·               Rewording of some outcomes and performance criteria was undertaken to improve clarity

·               Rewording of some unit standard titles and elements was undertaken to improve clarity

·               Additions were made to some range statements to more accurately reflect current industry practice.

 

Impact on existing qualifications

 

The Hospitality Standards Institute qualification below is not materially affected by the changes.  It will be updated when it is next reviewed.
