Revision of Tourism qualification

The Aviation, Tourism and Travel Training Organisation has revised the qualification listed above that was registered in June 2002.
Date new version published December 2004
The review of this qualification is planned to take place in December 2007
Reason for the revision
To take account of the review of unit standard 18229 and Retail and Wholesale unit standard reviews.
Main changes resulting from the revision
Changes to structure and content
· Unit standard 18229 has been substituted with unit standards 20489 and 20490 in the compulsory section.
· Unit standard 61 has been removed from the elective section.
· Unit standard 18225 had been added to the elective section.
· The titles and classifications of unit standards 11956, 11957, and 11986 have been updated.
· The wording of the elective rule has been amended to clarify the minimum requirement.
Transition
People currently working towards version 4 of the qualification may either complete the requirements for that version or transfer their results to the new version of the qualification.
For the purpose of this qualification people who have gained credit for the expiring standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the substituted standards.
