The Printing & Allied Industries Training Council has revised the qualifications listed above that were registered in July 1998, October 1999, February 2001, May 2001 and October 2001.

Reason for the revision
These qualifications were revised following a review of unit standards 339, 340, 341 and 2281 from the Printing Production domain. Some of these unit standards are included in the core compulsory section of these qualifications. The changes made do not significantly change the outcomes for achieving these qualifications.
Full reviews of the qualifications will be undertaken as the unit standards for each sector of the industry are reviewed.
Main changes resulting from the revision
New unit standard 20058 has been included in the Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications listed above, as it addressed an identified knowledge gap in the qualifications.
Unit standard 20057, which incorporates the skills covered in unit standard 339 plus additional knowledge required, has been included in the level 4 qualifications listed above.
Transition
People currently under training will complete previous versions without disadvantage. Last date for award of these versions is not applicable.
It is intended that all people entering into training programmes from January 2004 will undertake the new qualification versions.
