Summary of review and consultation process
Members of the retail sector of the gas industry identified development that was needed on the above unit standards to fulfil competency requirements in their sector. The restructuring of the gas industry impacted on the content of the standards some of which were out of date.
This review was confined to gas sales and marketing as the issues of gas delivery, switching and billing were still being resolved.
The review included a series of meetings starting in November 2003 with industry representatives from gas retailers, gas appliance suppliers, and gas appliance retailers. Other stakeholders were invited to provide feedback during the process.
