Forest Industries Training has reviewed the qualifications listed above that were registered in August 1999.
Date new versions published July 2004
Reason for the review
Following the review of the unit standards in the Tissue Converting domain the advisory group have completed a review of their qualification structures. As part of this the industry wished to reflect the importance of Total Productive Manufacturing philosophies to their industry, by raising an appropriate unit standard to the same status as the industry unit standards in Elective List A of the qualifications.
The Pulp and Paper - Stores and Warehousing domain will be allowed to lapse in the review of other Pulp and Paper domains, scheduled for later in 2004. The more generic unit standards in the Materials Management domain will supersede the Pulp and Paper Stores and Warehousing unit standards. This unit standard review has been anticipated in this Tissue Converting qualificationreview by the replacement of Pulp and Paper - Stores and Warehousing domain with the Materials Management domain in the elective section of the level 2 and level 3 qualifications. Storekeeping related skills are not required for the purposes of the level 4 qualification so neither domain is required.
Main changes resulting from the review
· A total productive manufacturing unit has been added to Elective List A of each of the qualifications.
· The Pulp and Paper - Stores and Warehousing domain has been removed from all three qualifications and replaced with the Materials Management domain in Elective List A of the level 2 and level 3 qualifications.
· The Management subfield has been removed from the level 2 qualification (asthere are no Management standards at level 2).
· The Management subfield has been removed from Elective List C of the level 3 qualification (an oversight at registration; this subfield is included in Elective List B).
