Revision of Gas Industry qualification

 

National Certificate in Gas Industry (Gas Distribution) (Level 2) [Ref: 1020]

 

The NZ Extractive Industries Training Organisation has revised the qualification listed above that was registered in June 2003.

 

Date new version published                        June 2004

 

The review of this qualification is planned to take place in 2007.

 

Reason for the revision

 

·          Review of Fire and Rescue Services, and Gas Industry unit standards

·          Update of the Standard Setting Body information following the amalgamation of the Gas and Petrochemical Industry Training Organisation with the NZ Extractive Industries Training Organisation.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

Changes to structure and content

·        Credit of unit standard 11329 decreased from 4 to 2

·        Level of unit standard 3271 decreased from 3 to 2

·        Title of unit standard 3272 updated; level decreased from 4 to 3; and credits decreased from 4 to 3

·        Total credit requirement decreased from 47 to 45

·        Qualification pathway diagram updated.

 

Transition

 

There are no transition implications.  People currently working towards version 1 of the qualification may either complete the requirements for that version of transfer their results to the new version of the qualification.
