The Extractive Industries Training Organisation has revised the qualifications listed above that were registered in November 1997, January 2001, December 2002, and June 2003.
Date new versions published June 2004
The review of these qualifications is planned to take place in 2007.
Reason for the revision
· Review and reclassification of Petrochemical Industry unit standards
· Review of Fire and Rescue Services, Energy and Chemical Plant, NZ Road Transport and Logistics, and Adult Education and Training unit standards
· Update of the Standard Setting Body information following the amalgamation of the Gas and Petrochemical Industry Training Organisation with the NZ Extractive Industries Training Organisation
· Unit standard 5628 replaced unit standard 5629 as it more appropriately reflected the knowledge and skills required by industry for people involved in temporary traffic management on minor or inner city roads
· Unit standard 17976 removed from 1022 as it did not reflect that candidates for this qualification were working under supervision
· Unit standard 19555 removed from 1023 as it was now in the compulsory set of the recommended lower level qualification (0885).

All of the qualifications listed have had the Standard Setting Body information updated, other changes are as indicated.
National Certificate in Gas Network Operations (Operations and Maintenance) (Level 3) [Ref: 0885]
Changes to structure and content
· Unit standards 9573 and 9574 replaced by 20590 in the elective section
· Unit standard 19555 moved from elective to compulsory section
· Prior award of the National Certificate in Gas Industry (Gas Distribution) (Level 2) [Ref: 1020] changed from a requirement for award to recommended
· Compulsory credits increased from 89 to 104
· Elective credits decreased from 40 to 25
· Qualification pathway diagram updated.
This qualification contains standards that replace earlier standards. For the purposes of this qualification people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards.

Transition
People currently working towards a previous version of any of the above listed qualifications may either complete the requirements for that version or transfer their results to the new version of the qualification. Where applicable, the last date for people to complete a previous version of a qualification is documented in the NQF Registration information of the corresponding National Certificate.
