Revision and Rollover of Core Health unit standards 6400-6401

The National Qualifications Services of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority has revised the unit standards listed above, which were registered in December 1999.

 

The period of registration has been extended to allow research into the use of these unit standards and first aid training to inform the review.  The review of these unit standards is planned to take place during 2004-2005.

Reason for the revision

 

·          To update references, make minor editorial amendments, and clarify special notes, and range statements.

·          To update the moderation option.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

·          Special notes in unit standard 6402 have been refined and clarified and reference to the New Zealand Resuscitation Council Guidelines has been updated.

·          Special note 2 in unit standard 6401 has been extended to include scenarios for simulated emergency situations and the range statement in performance criterion 1.1 has been clarified.

·          Special notes in unit standard 6400 have been refined and clarified as has the range in performance criterion 1.1

AMAP 0104 has been updated to reflect the changes made to the standards.  Please note special accreditation requirements for providers of these unit standards.
