At the request of the Plastics and Materials Processing Industry Training Organisation, the Qualifications Authority has changed the classification of the unit standards referred to above.
The new domains listed above are among some of those which now replace the Plastics Production domain. The Plastics Production domain has been designated as Lapsing.
The Plastics and Materials Processing Industry Training Organisation has further decided that the unit standards listed above, which were registered as shown, should have their period of registration extended.
The reason for the rollover is that the unit standards have not been used sufficiently to warrant a review at this stage.
The review of these unit standards is planned to take place during 2005 and 2006.

Rationale for the change
The domain Plastics Production contains a large number of unit standards. Industry has decided that it is highly desirable to reclassify these unit standards into domains that are more identifiable with the recognised sectors within the plastics industry.
