Summary of review and consultation process
The review was prompted by request from the providers' annual meeting, the unit standards having reached their review date. This is the final batch of four, with the previous three batches including reviewed, revised, and rolled-over unit standards and reviewed qualifications. The review panel was made up of representation from providers, industry, and National Moderators. The draft reviewed unit standards were then disseminated through wider provider and industry networks and an ITF appointed panel for final feedback.
Main changes resulting from the review
· Titles changed in unit standards 7097, 7103, 7104, 7105, and 7098.
· Levels of unit standards 7103 and 7104 increased.
· Level of 7098 decreased.
· Unit standard 7104 increased.
· Credit value of unit standards 7105 and 7098 decreased.
· Unit standard 7097 reconstructed to suit the facilitation task identified in the title change.
· Unit standard 7098 refined to three elements, unit standard 7099 refined to two elements.
· Unit standards 7103, 7104, and 7105 reconstructed and refined to improve assessability.
· Review category D allocated to unit standard 7107; similar outcomes can be assessed by unit standard 19444.
· Refinement of Special Notes and alterations to sufficiency statements.
· 7111 replaced by 20470 in the Design and Development of Adult Education and Training domain. The replacement provides focus on a more practical skill - the development of training manuals.
· 7116 replaced by 20469, which concentrates more specifically on evaluation of sessions.
· Adult Education and Training Knowledge and Skills domain designated as lapsing.
Unit standards categorised as category C or D expire at the end of December 2005.
