Revision of Electronics Technology qualifications

The ElectroTechnology Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualifications listed above that were registered in October 2002 [Ref: 0240] and March 2003 [Ref: 1005].
Date new versions published October 2004
The review of these qualifications is planned to take place in 2006 [Ref: 0240] and 2008 [Ref: 1005]
Reason for the revision
These qualifications were revised to take account of the reclassification in July 2004 of standards in a new subfield and domains and to expand the elective options.
Main changes resulting from the revision
National Certificate in Electronics Technology (Level 2) [Ref: 0240]
This qualification has been issued as version 4.
Changes to structure and content
The elective requirements were expanded to include the domain Technology General Education
The subfield and domain of listed standards were updated to reflect the revised National Qualification Framework classification
The transition table for Sixth Form Certificate was amended to match the elective credit rule
All other requirements relating to version 3 remain unchanged.
Transition
There are no transition implications arising from this change.
Trainees currently enrolled in programmes leading to the award of versions 1, 2 or 3 of this qualificationmay either complete the requirements for that version or transfer to version 4. The last date for award of version 1 is 31 December 2004.

This qualification has been issued as version 2.

The subfield and domain of listed standards were updated to reflect the revised National Qualification Framework classification
The title and level was amended for reviewed Unit 9221, Describe the development of a new electronic product.
There are no transition implications arising from this change. People may complete version 1 or transfer to version 2.
