        National Certificate in Bovine Leather Manufacture with strands in Tanning, Retanning and Dyeing, and Finishing [Ref: 0317]

        National Certificate in Light Leather Manufacture with strands in Tanning, Retanning and Dyeing, and Finishing [Ref: 0318]

        National Certificate in Woolskin Manufacture with strands in Tanning, Retanning and Dyeing, and Finishing [Ref: 0319]

        National Certificate in Leather Manufacture Technology (Introductory) (Level 3) available with Merit [Ref: 0419]

        National Certificate in Leather Manufacture Technology (Advanced) (Level 4) available with Merit [Ref: 0420]

        National Certificate in Hide Processing (Level 2) [Ref: 0717]

 

Responsibility for the National Certificates referred to above, which were registered in May 1999, May 1997, January and November 2000 was transferred from the Leather Industry Training Organisation (LITO) to New Zealand Industry Training Organisation (NZITO) following the merger of the LITO and NZITO.

 

The NZITO has revised the qualifications to reflect the change of ITO responsibility and comply with NZQA formatting requirements.  The requirements of the qualifications remain the same.

 

New Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP) for the NZITO Leather AdvisoryGroup

 

A new AMAP AMAP 0185 has been registered for the New Zealand Industry Training Organisation Leather Advisory Group.  The requirements of AMAP 0185 remain the same as those specified for the Leather Manufacturing industry in AMAP 0110.

 

AMAP 0110 covered both Leather Manufacturing and Footwear.  It has now been issued as version 3 to remove the Leather Manufacturing subfield unit standards.  AMAP 0110 is under review.  For further information regarding the Footwear unit standards please contact the Apparel and Textile Industry Training Organisation.

Responsibility for the unit standards referred to above, which were registered in June, August and September 1996, and April 2000, has been transferred to NZITO.

 

The unit standards have been amended to show the new ITO responsibility and new AMAP reference, and published as new versions.  Unit standards that expire in December 2004 and December 2005 have been rolled over until December 2006.
