Revision of Social Services qualification

 

National Diploma in Employment Support [Ref: 1040]

 

Te Kaiawhina Ahumahi Social Services Industry Training Organisation has revised the above qualification that was registered in August 2003.

 

Date new version published                        September 2004

 

The review of this qualification is planned to take place in August 2007

 

Reason for the revision

 

The transition arrangements have been amended to provide for an additional exemption for people who have completed the Diploma in Supported Employment developed in association with the Association of Supported Employment in New Zealand (ASENZ).

 

The opportunity was taken to add the level of the qualification to the title.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

People who have completed the Practicum in the Diploma in Supported Employment will now be able to apply for an exemption for Unit 20039, Demonstrate an integrated practice theory for employment support.

Changes to structure and content

·          Provision made for an exemption for people who have completed the Practicum in the Diploma in Supported Employment.  People who have completed the Practicum will now be able to apply for an exemption for Unit 20039, Demonstrate an integrated practice theory for employment support.

·          Level of qualification added to title.
