Revision of Concrete Construction and Concrete Production qualifications.
National Certificate in Concrete Construction with strands in Sitework, Pre-cast Concrete, and Placing and Finishing [Ref: 0732]
National Certificate in Concrete Construction (Specialist) with strands in Sitework, and Pre-cast Concrete [Ref: 0744]
The Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualifications listed above that were registered in February and April 2000.
Date new versions published February 2005
The review of these qualifications is planned to take place in 2007.
Reason for the revision
To take account of changes arising from the review of Concrete Construction, Concrete Production and Concrete Technology standards in February 2002 and July 2004.
Main changes resulting from the revision
National Certificate in Concrete Production (Ready-Mixed Concrete) [Ref: 0731]
Changes to structure and content
· The credit values for standards 13036 and 12997 have been updated.
· Standard 12039 has reduced from 10 credits to 8 credits.
· Titles of standards 12039, 12012, 12019 and 12040 have been updated.
Transition
People currently working towards version 1 of this qualification may complete that version or transfer their results to version 2.

Changes to structure and content
· Standard 12030 has been replaced with standards 13008, 13043 and 13045 as they more appropriately reflect the knowledge and skills required by industry. This has increased the credit total for the Sitework Strand from 93 to 107, and that for the qualification from 62-93 to 62-107.
· Titles of standards 12041, 12017, 12028 and 12019 have been updated.
Transition
People currently working towards version 2 or 3 of this qualification may complete that version or transfer their results to version 4. The last date for award of version 2 or 3 is December 2007.
People currently working towards version 1 of this qualification may complete that version or transfer their results to version 2. Version 1 must have been completed by 30 June 2004, with the last date for award of version 1 being 31 December 2005.

Changes to structure and content
· The credit total range for the qualification has increased from 63-110 to 64-120 dependent on the chosen strand.
· The credit total range for the Sitework Strand has decreased from 65-104 to 54-93.
· The credit total range for the Pre-cast Concrete Strand has increased from 63-10 to 73-120.
· Standard 12031 replaced with standards 13029 and 13065.
· Standard 18349 added to the Core Compulsory section.
· Titles of standards 12018, 12040 and 12041 have been updated.
· Prerequisite diagram added.

People currently working towards version 1 of this qualification may complete that version or transfer their results to version 2. The last date for award of version 1 is December 2007.
