The Forest Industries Training and Education Council (FITEC) has revised the qualifications listed above that were registered in January 2001.

Date new versions published                        February 2005

The review of these qualifications is planned to take place in 2006

Reason for the revision

Industry requested that unit standards 13108 and 13109 be added to the last (balance rule) elective in all three of these qualifications.  These unit standards recognise training outcomes considered to add to the welfare and wellbeing of the workers in the Solid Wood Processing as well as the Forestry sectors of industry.

Main changes resulting from the revision

Unit 13108, Describe effects of hydration and nutrition on safety, health and performance of forestry workers and Unit 13109, Demonstrate knowledge of factors which impair the performance of forestry workers, were added to the last elective of each qualification.

Transition

As the revision increases the range of options available, trainees may continue to complete the previous version of the qualifications or change to the revised versions.
