Summary of review and consultation process
These unit standards were rolled over in 2003 to allow a full review to be undertaken for the first time. The Hairdressing Qualifications Advisory Committee, after full consultation with stakeholders in 2003 and 2004, decided on changes to the above unit standards.
Main changes resulting from the review
Credit values and levels re-evaluated in light of feedback; unit standards rewritten to better reflect the reality of the tasks; and minor changes made to align these to the other hairdressing unit standards.
· Unit standard 13464 - level raised from 3 to 4 and special note 1 amended to extend the time for candidates to compete in the New Zealand Association of Hairdressers competitions to five years.
· Unit standard 13465 - the specified requirements for lighting were reduced to better reflect the requirements of a salon practitioner designing a salon layout.
· Unit standard 13466 - special note for 'industry standard' rewritten for clarity.
· Unit standard 13467 - credit value increased to reflect the hours of learning required.
· Unit standard 13468 - the credit value and level changed to better reflect assessment requirements.
