Summary of review and consultation process

 

The review of this unit standard was prompted by feedback from providers.  The unit standard in its current format incorporates two processes that are not always carried out by the same person.  This precludes some candidates being able to complete their qualification.  Consultation has occurred with Fonterra Co-operative Group and other manufacturing companies and with the training delivery organisation, the Fonterra Research Institute.

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

The main change stemming from this review has been to split unit standard 767 into two new unit standards – one for evaporation and one for spray drying.  This change will allow companies to focus training on the applicable aspect of the overall process.  This may involve completing one or in some cases both new unit standards.
