Revision of Commercial Road Transport qualification
National Certificate in Commercial Road Transport (Large Passenger Service Driver) with strands in School Bus, Urban and Local Route, and Long Distance [Ref: 0190]
The New Zealand Road Transport and Logistics Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualification listed above that was last registered in January 2003.
Date new version published July 2005
The review of this qualification is planned to take place in 2008
The revision was undertaken to incorporate new unit standards covering coach passenger safety at accident sites, and the Code of Practice for Operating Coaches on State Highway 94 (to Milford Sound). The opportunity was taken to incorporate some changes at the request of the industry.
Main changes resulting from the revision
Change in title to National Certificate in Passenger Service (Large Passenger Vehicle) with strands in School Bus, Urban and Local Route, and Long Distance.
Changes to structure and content:
· Unit standard 17579 has been included in the Core Compulsory section. (Previously it was an elective unit standard for all three strands).
· Unit standard 16606 has been deleted from the Core Compulsory.
· Unit standard 16608 has been deleted from the School Bus Elective sections, and from the Urban and Local Route and Long Distance Strands elective sections.
· The credit totals have been increased for the School Bus and Urban and Local Route strands and decreased for the Long Distance strand.
· Unit standards 1735 and 1737 have been deleted from the Urban and Local Route elective section.
· Unit standard 20471 has been added to the Long Distance Strand elective section.
· Unit standards 17373, 17677, 18138, and 20472 have been added to the School Bus, Urban and Local Route and Long Distance Strands elective sections.
People working towards version 5 of this qualification may complete that version or transfer their results to version 6. The last date for award of version 5 of the qualification is 31 December 2006.
