Revision of Dairy Farming qualification
National Certificate in Dairy Farming (Artificial Insemination) with strands in Site Technician, and Industry Technician [Ref: 0967]
The Agriculture Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualification listed above that was registered in September 2002.
The review of this qualification is planned to take place in 2007 (unchanged)
Reason for the revision
The qualification was revised because unit standard 21757 was considered more suitable for artificial insemination technicians, and it replaced unit standard 19115 in the core compulsory section. The condition on the elective rule for the Industry Technician strand was also corrected.
Main changes resulting from the revision
Changes to structure and content
· Unit standard 19115 replaced with unit standard 21757
· Total qualification credits decreased by 1
· Level 3 credits required for the Site Technician Elective increased by 1 credit
· Level 4 credits required for the Industry Technician Elective amended to include 10 credits at level 4 or above and to set the level of the Industry Technician strand at level 4. This condition on the rule was inadvertently omitted from Version 1.
It is recommended that people transfer to version 2 of the qualification as soon as possible. All new training programmes or courses from 31 December 2005 will lead to this version of the qualification. The last date for award of version 1 is December 2007.
People transferring before December 2007 can use the following exemption.
