Summary of review and consultation process

These unit standards were reviewed to support the newly developed Tourism Māori Qualifications and to respond to technical evaluation requirements.  Stakeholders were invited to the hui and those that attended represented, industry, training providers, trainers, assessors and Māori regional tourism organisations.  Comments and recommendations from all parties were incorporated throughout the review process. The final versions of the unit standards were endorsed by the Whakaruruhau.

Main changes resulting from the review

·        Across the board changes were made to the special notes, to clarify and maintain consistency.  Special notes regarding assessment contexts were added along with definitions.

·        Changes to some unit standard titles, purpose statements, elements and performance criteria were made to add more clarity to the standards.

·        In some instances where changes were made to elements, changes were made also to titles.

·        The advisory group looked closely at the levels and credit allocations, and made many adjustments.
