Revision of Floristry qualifications
National Certificate in Floristry (Level 4) with an optional Advanced strand [Ref: 1151]
The New Zealand Horticulture Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualifications listed above that were registered in March 2005.
Date new versions published June 2005
The review of these qualifications is planned to take place in 2009 (no change)
Reason for the revision
These qualifications have been revised and issued as new versions in order to include unit standard exemptions for expiring Floristry unit standards in the transition arrangements.
Transition arrangements were not included in the qualifications at registration, as no candidate was disadvantaged by the review and replacement of the Floristry strands in the review of the National Certificates in Horticulture (Level 4) [Refs: 1014 & 1015]. Transition arrangements have been included now for the benefit of people who have been enrolled in local courses based on unit standards, and who wish to use their results towards a National Certificate in Floristry.

For the purposes of this qualification people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the corresponding new standards as specified below.
