Expiry date of new versions of the unit standards                        December 2010

Summary of review and consultation process

This review was initiated to ensure that the Snowsport unit standards are up to date and continue to reflect best industry practice.  It has involved all the major snowsport areas in New Zealand as well as key active accredited providers.

Main changes resulting from the review

The main changes have been:

·         Amendment of title, credit and levels for some unit standards

·         Identification of gap unit standards and development of new unit standards

·         Name change for the domain Recreation Instruction and Facilitation to Snowsport Instruction and Facilitation

·         Unit standards in the lapsing domain Outdoor Equipment (subfield Snowsport) have been reclassified into two new domains: Outdoor Equipment (subfield Outdoor Recreation); and Snowsport Equipment (subfield Snowsport).

Unit standards categorised as category C or D expire at the end of December 2007.
