Revision and Rollover of Commercial Road Transport Skillsunit standards

The New Zealand Road Transport and Logistics Industry Training Organisation has decided that the unit standards listed above, which were registered in May 1999, should have their period of registration extended.

 

The reason for the rollover is that a new Land Transport (Operator Licensing) Rule will be developed in 2005, to replace the Transport Services Licensing Act 1989 (the Act).  On the date the new Rule takes effect, the Act will be repealed.  Until then, the provisions of the Act continue in force, and the Knowledge of Law and Practice Handbook, published by the Land Transport Safety Authority or Land Transport New Zealand remains the reference document.

 

Minor revisions include replacing the Land Transport Safety Authority, and using the name of the new agency.

 

The review of these unit standards is planned to take place during 2005, once the provisions of the Rule are clear.
