The New Zealand Industry Training Organisation has rolled over the unit standards listed above which were registered in October 1995, October 1998, November 2000, December 2000, July 2001, August 2002 and September 2002. The unit standards in bold have also been revised.
The reason for the rollover is to maintain the currency of the unit standards until they have been reviewed. This review is planned to take place during 2006.
Consultation was held with the Industrial Health and Safety Advisory Group, during 2004, over any changes required to the unit standards listed in the above domains. Unit standards 17585, 17586, 17394, and 18409 have had their credit allocation reduced to better reflect the time spent learning, the time taken to practise the required outcomes so that performance is repeatable and to the required standard, the time taken to gather and provide evidence for assessment purposes, and the time taken for assessment to take place in all the outcomes in required contexts. Feedback on the reduction in credits for these unit standards came from providers and workplace trainers who have prepared delivery resources for these units.
Unit 19521, Explain the requirements of the Health and Safety in Employment Act (HSE) 1992, was understated as to the allocation of credits. The credits for this unit standard were increased after feedback was received from training providers and safety advisors.

Reason for the rollover and revision
The reason for the rollover is to maintain the currency of the unit standards until they have been reviewed. The opportunity was also taken to revise some of these unit standards in order to update legislation, reference materials in the special notes, and prerequisite unit standards in the entry information. The credits allocated to unit standards 17585, 17586, 17394, 18409, and 19521 have been modified in response to feedback from industry.
Main changes resulting from the revision
· References to legislation, special note references, and prerequisite information were updated.
· Accreditation and moderation options were brought up to date.
· Some credit values were changed to better reflect needs of industry and candidates.
· Minor editorial amendments were made.
Impact on existing provider accreditations

Impact on Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP)
