Revision of Engineering and Technology qualification

 

National Certificate in Engineering and Technology (Glass Containers) (Level 2) [Ref: 0947]

 

The Plastics and Materials Processing Industry Training Organisation has revised the qualification listed above that was registered in April 2002.

 

Date new version published                        May 2005

 

Reason for the revision

 

Glass Container Manufacturing unit standard 18769 was revised and increased in terms of level and credit.  The opportunity was also taken to make a small number of changes based upon industry feedback.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

Changes to structure and content

·      standard 18769 was moved from the compulsory to Elective A, List A;

·      standards 17344 and 17345 have been replaced respectively by standards 20612 and 20611 in Elective A, List B;

·      the prerequisite for the qualification has been updated.

 

Transition

 

People working towards the replaced version of the qualification will automatically transfer to the new version of the qualification.  The last date for award for version 1 is 31 December 2005.

 

This qualification contains standards that replace earlier standards.  For the purposes of this qualification people who have gained credit for the expiring standards are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standards.
