Withdrawal of Furniture Finishing qualifications
National Certificate in Furniture Finishing (Level 2) [Ref: 0790]
National Certificate in Furniture Finishing (Level 3) [Ref: 1180]
National Certificate in Furniture Finishing (Level 4) [Ref: 1181]
NZQA, in consultation with the NZ Furniture Industry Training Organisation, has withdrawn the qualifications listed above that were registered in August 2005.
Date report published November 2005
Reason for the withdrawal
The National Certificates in Furniture Finishing at levels 2 and 4 required correction and were in the process of being revised. The NZ Furniture Industry Training Organisation is taking the opportunity to reassess the qualifications, as industry has requested further changes to all three qualifications registered in August 2005.
In the interim, the current versions of all three qualifications in Furniture Finishing are withdrawn from the Framework. Revised versions of the qualifications will be re-registered on the Framework when the outcome of consultation with industry is finalised.
Transition
The ITO has not signed trainees to these versions of the qualifications, so no transition arrangements are necessary.
