Revision of Forest Health Surveillance qualification
National Certificate in Forest Health Surveillance (Level 5) [Ref: 0909]
Forest Industries Training and Education Council (FITEC) has revised the above qualification that was registered in November 2001.
Date new version published November 2005
The review of this qualification is planned to take place in 2006.
Reason for the revision
In August 2004, a Forest Health sub-group of FITEC decided to move unit standard 16819 from the compulsory section to the elective section of this qualification because the unit standard had only limited relevance to the qualification. The unit standard was moved to the elective section so that those people who were part way through the qualification and had completed the unit standard would not be disadvantaged.
Main changes resulting from the revision
· Unit standard 16819 has been moved from the compulsory section to the elective section.
· Unit standards 17976 and 17977 have been amended to reflect the changes from the review of unit standards in the Specialist Driving Knowledge and Skills domain.
· Unit standard 19058 has replaced unit standard 10099 in the elective to reflect changes resulting from the review of unit standards in the Agriculture subfield.
· The credit total for the compulsory section has reduced from 94 to 91, and the minimum required in the elective section has increased from 16 to 19 credits.
· Level added to title.
Transition
This qualification contains a standard that replaced an earlier standard. For the purposes of this qualification people who have gained credit for the expiring standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standard.
