Summary of review and consultation process

The ATITO has reviewed the unit standards listed above following feedback from providers and industry.  The feedback indicated that unit standards 3127, 3128, and 3137 could be assessed better if they were combined into one unit standard, and the level and credits should be raised to better reflect the level of knowledge being assessed.  This would also make them consistent with other textile knowledge unit standards.

Feedback also recommended that the level of unit standards 8957 and 16618 be increased to reflect the knowledge requirements of the standards, and make them consistent with other textile knowledge unit standards.

Main changes resulting from the review

·        Unit standards 8957 and 16618 have been designated as B category reviews and the level of both unit standards has been increased to level 5.

·        Unit standards 3127, 3128, and 3137 have been designated as C category reviews and will expire.

·        One new level 5 unit standard has been developed to replace the three C category standards: Unit standard 22166, Demonstrate knowledge of semi-worsted and worsted yarn making technology.

Unit standards categorised as category C expire at the end of December 2007.
