Summary of review and consultation process
As a result of industry consultation originally conducted in 2003 and revisited in 2005 the unit standards listed above have been amended to ensure that candidates who achieve competency when assessed against them are commercially employable. Feedback from moderation, providers, and other stakeholders indicated that the knowledge and skills within the unit standards should have a domain-specific focus.

· Purpose statements of unit standards 2759 and 10650 have been amended to clarify intent.
· Barbering techniques required are more clearly defined.
· Commercial experience required to meet the needs of industry has been redefined.
· Legislative requirements have been updated.
· Entry information has been specified.
