The Agriculture Industry Training Organisation has completed the review of the qualification listed above that was registered in June 1997.

New Title

National Certificate in Agrichemical Supply (Level 3) with strands in Animal Health Products and Plant Protection Products [Ref: 0325]

Date new version published                                                                      September 2005

The review of this qualification is planned to take place in               December 2010

Reason for the review

The review was carried out to update the qualification following unit standard reviews, and the reclassification of Agrichemical Distribution unit standards to the new domain Agrichemical Supply.

The panel, which reviewed the unit standards, also considered the structure and relevancy of this qualification.  Membership of the review panel included Test Certifiers approved by Environmental Risk Management Authority (ERMA); representatives from agrichemical manufacturers, distributors, and retailers; and users of animal and plant health products.

All stakeholders were consulted during wider industry consultation, and their feedback was taken into consideration by the review panel.  Stakeholders included members of Federated Farmers of New Zealand (Inc), New Zealand Veterinary Association, New Zealand Fruitgrowers Federation, Vegfed (New Zealand Vegetable and Potato Growers' Federation), New Zealand Agrichemical Education Trust, and AgCarm (New Zealand Association for Animal Health and Crop Protection) representing suppliers who manufacture, retail, and store agrichemicals. Their feedback has confirmed that the content and stranded structure of the qualification continues to meet the needs of industry.

The qualification was endorsed by the Chairperson of the Services to Agriculture Industry Committee.
