The Hospitality Standards Institute has revised the unit standard listed above, which was registered in April 2005.

The review of the unit standard is planned to take place during 2008.

Date new version published                        April 2006

Planned review date                        December 2008

Reason for the revision

The moderation process identified that the special note range statement, which required evidence from four categories of foods, was a barrier to assessment in the fast food sector which commonly deep fries only meat and potato items.  As a result stakeholders have been consulted and the standard revised.

Main changes resulting from the revision

The range statement in the special notes has been amended to specify a minimum of one item of meat or fish, and a minimum of one item of vegetable or dessert.
