Revision of Electricity Supply qualification

 

National Certificate in Electricity Supply (Level 2) [Ref: 0868]

 

The Electricity Supply Industry Training Organisation (ESITO) has revised the above qualification that was registered in September 2004.

 

Date new version published                        April 2006

 

The review of this qualification is planned to take place in 2008

 

Reason for the revision

 

The industry has a large number of trainees who have been disadvantaged by the transition provisions for version 1, as they had not completed its requirements by December 2005.  If they now transfer to version 2 or 3 they would be required to undertake additional training and achieve an extra 27 credits.  The Electricity Supply Industry has considered its appeal process and agreed to extend the final date for version 1.

 

The opportunity was taken to update the qualification to reflect the review of the core electrical standards.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

Changes to structure and content

·        Titles and credits have been updated for standards 15851 and 15852.

·        There is no change to credit requirements resulting from the change.

·        The final date for award of version 1 has been extended from December 2005 to December 2008.

·        The final date for award of version 2 has been extended from December 2008 to December 2009.
