The Seafood Industry Training Organisation has completed the review of the unit standard listed above that was registered in June 2000.

Summary of review and consultation process

 

The review was initiated by workplace assessors in response to changes to the Ministry of Fisheries Trade Information Scheme, and the inclusion of additional species.  The review was primarily to ensure that the unit standard reflected current industry practice and legislation.   Consultation was arranged and included representatives from the Ministry of Fisheries Trade Information Scheme and workplace assessors.  Feedback was incorporated into the unit standard review.

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

The main changes resulting from the review were to ensure the unit standard allowed for other fish species that are now included in the Ministry of Fisheries Trade Information Scheme.

 

The review process has resulted in the following changes to the unit standard:

·        The title has been changed to reflect current industry practice

·        The level has been increased from 3 to 4

·        The credit value has been increased from 3 to 5

·        Other minor changes have been made to the special notes, elements and performance criteria to reflect changes in industry practices and legislation and for consistency with the Trade Information Scheme.
