Revision of Petrochemical Industry qualification

National Certificate in Petrochemical Industry (Production) (Level 3) [Ref: 0980]

The NZ Extractive Industries Training Organisation (EXITO) has revised the qualification above that was registered in December 2002.

Date new version published                        August 2006

Reason for the revision

Unit standards 14898 and 3051 have been identified as barriers to achievement of the qualification and have been removed from the compulsory section.  The qualification has been revised and issued as version 3 to allow candidates currently working towards version 1 or 2 of the qualification to complete.

In June 2005 a review of Monitoring of Energy and Chemical Plant, Operation of Energyand Chemical Plant, and Safety and Legislation for Energy and Chemical Plant unit standards was carried out, which had a significant impact on this qualification.  The revision of this qualification also takes account of the changes arising from that unit standard review (see review report).

Please note

The qualification is currently under review.  Version 3 is being issued only to enable candidates to transfer from version 1 and version 2 and complete the qualification.
