Forest Industries Training and Education Council (FITEC) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above that were registered in March 1999, September 2001, December 2002, June 2003, and February 2005.

Summary of review and consultation process
FITEC has been involved in the development of new qualification structures for the wood fibre manufacturing industries. As part of the process industry advisory groups have been convened to review the structure of qualifications in wood panel manufacture. The advisory groups have reviewed the content of unit standards to ensure that they are fit for the new qualification structures they are being put into. This has resulted in minor changes to the content of the listed unit standards and the development of one new unit standard in Laminated Veneer Lumber and Plywood Manufacturing.
Main changes resulting from the review
The review has resulted in the following changes:
· Unit standards have been moved to their new subfield
· Minor word changes to range statements and performance criteria to capture changes in technology
· Updating formats and wording to meet NZQA unit standard guidelines
· One new unit standard has been created.
