Summary of review and consultation process
As a result of the industry-wide consultation on the requirements for qualifications going forward it was clear that this unit standard did not meet the need of all of the wood manufacturing industries, including pulp and paper, wood panels, and solid wood manufacturing. A new unit standard 22977 has been developed to meet the induction needs for the health and safety, and the environmental risks encountered in the industry. This new unit standard will replace unit standard 21756.
Unit standard 21756 has not been included in any qualification development since its registration and its expiring will have no impact on currently registered qualifications.
Main changes resulting from the review
Unit standard 21756 has been replaced, and new unit standards have been developed to meet industry needs.
Unit standard 21756 categorised as category C, expires at the end of December 2008.
