The Ministry of Education and the Secondary Education Group Assessment business unit have revised the unit standards listed above, which were registered in January 2006.

Reason for the revision
To make minor editorial amendments and correct errors identified after the registration of these achievement standards.
Main changes resulting from the revision
· The word 'different' in the first achievement with merit criterion of AS90677 has been removed to be consistent with the achievement and achievement with excellence criteria.
· The final sentence of Explanatory Note 5 of AS90678, AS90680, AS90682, AS90684, AS90686 and AS90688 has been reworded to read 'Therefore, for achievement with merit or achievement with excellence, the student is able…'
· 'Electronic' in the title of AS90680 has been corrected to 'electronics', as the s was inadvertently removed at registration.
· The achievement with excellence criterion for AS90682, which had incorrectly referred to biotechnology, has been corrected to 'food technology'.
· Consistent references to 'information and communication technology (ICT)' have been applied to AS90684 and AS90685. This has lead to minor amendments to the achievement criteria and explanatory notes of AS90684.
· Explanatory Note 5 of AS90679, AS90681, AS90683, AS90685 and AS90687 has been corrected. This explanatory note incorrectly referred to biotechnology in each achievement standard. This explanatory note has been corrected to reference the appropriate technology type.
