Summary of review and consultation process

The review of the Corrugated Case Converting unit standards was undertaken during 2004 and 2005 and new unit standards were registered.  At that time it was decided that the National Certificate in Corrugated and Solid Board Converting (Clam Shell Operator) (Level 2) [Ref: 0501] was no longer required by industry and should expire without replacement.  As a result of this decision unit standards 10129 and 10138 were designated as expiring, with an expiry date of December 2007.

However, industry has since requested that these two unit standards be reviewed and reinstated.  This will allow credit to be gained for this machinery, where it is still used as part of case converting production.  The associated qualification will not be replaced.

Unit standard 10134 has been revised to ensure consistency with other Corrugated Case Converting unit standards.
