Summary of review and consultation process

 

Competenz was in the process of reviewing qualifications in the refrigeration and air conditioning domain and a new qualification was being developed for split system air conditioning units.  This required an early review of unit standard 19666, Demonstrate knowledge of ozone and how it relates to the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.  Changes to the standard were endorsed at an industry advisory group meeting on 4 August 2005.

 

Three new Split Air Conditioning standards were developed as part of this project.  They are listed for information at the end of this report.

·        Level reduced from 4 to 3 to more accurately match the NQF Level Descriptors.

·        Special notes updated.

·        Elements and performance criteria rewritten for clarification.
