The Ministry of Education and the Secondary Education Group Assessment business unit of NZQA have revised the achievement standards listed above that were registered in November 2003 and 2004.
Date new versions published January 2006
Reason for the revision
To correct errors in the number of kana specified in evidence requirements. The errors stemmed from the standards being translated from generic templates.
Main changes resulting from the revision
· AS90105 Languages 1.4 - Japanese - Explanatory Note 6 has been changed to:
Evidence will be required from responses to two different types of written texts. The combined length of the two texts will be about 1200 kana, with kanji as appropriate.
· AS90487 Languages 2.4 - Japanese - Explanatory Note 6 has been changed to:
Evidence will be required from responses to at least two different types of written texts. The combined length of the texts will be about 1500 kana, with kanji as appropriate.
