Summary of review and consultation process
These unit standards were reviewed as part of Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation's scheduled review process for the Proprietary Plaster Cladding Systems domain. An industry working party consisting of representatives from the Proprietary Plaster Cladding Systems industry was gathered, and the unit standards were reviewed by this party. The resulting recommended changes were incorporated into the unit standards. These were then returned to the industry representatives for feedback, which was duly incorporated into the final reviewed unit standards.
Main changes resulting from the review
· Unit standards 17505, 17506, 17508, 17509, 17510, and 17512 have been replaced by unit standards 22328, 22329, 22330, 22331, 22332, and 22333 respectively. The credit values have increased in all of the replacement unit standards and the level has increased in unit standards 22329, 22332, and 22333.
· Credit values have increased for unit standards 17502 and 17503 to more accurately reflect the learning and assessment requirements.
· The level of unit standard 17503 has increased from 2 to 3.
· Special notes covering definitions and legislation have been updated in all unit standards.
· Minor alterations have been made to performance criteria and range statements in all unit standards to update them and for consistency within the batch.
· Unit standards 17504 and 17507 have been designated expiring as they cover skills that are either incorporated in other unit standards or no longer required by industry.
· Two new theory unit standards, 22334 and 22335, have been developed in response to industry requirements.
Unit standards categorised as category C or D expire at the end of December 2007.
