Reason for the revision
In March 2006, the New Zealand Resuscitation Council requested that NZQA make changes to the special notes and the range statement in performance criterion 1.2 to align with the latest guideline recommendations for assessment of a victim’s condition.
Main changes resulting from the revision
· Special note 1 has been amended to refer to the 2006 version of the New Zealand Resuscitation Council Guidelines for Resuscitation Level 2.
· The reference to rescue breathing has been removed from Special note 2.
· The range in performance criterion 1.2 now reads:
Range responsiveness, airway, breathing.
