Reason for the revision

 

The unit standard was revised to rectify an error in the entry information that was making it difficult for some candidates to attain the unit.  Version 3 of 6933 specified 6932, Load a logging truck, as the only possible prerequisite.

 

6933 is intended for candidates that use a loader to either fleet, sort, and stack logs or to load a logging truck, and as such both 6932 and 6931, Fleet, sort and stack logs should be available as prerequisite alternatives in the entry information.

 

The opportunity was also taken to update references; to make minor changes to elements and performance criteria to remove any potential ambiguities; to reclassify the standard in a different domain; and to roll it over in order to extend the next planned review date to December 2011.

 

Main changes resulting from the revision

 

·        The entry requirements have been changed to indicate that trainees require either Unit 6932, Load a logging truck, or Unit 6931, Fleet, sort and stack logs, as a prerequisite for assessment.

·        The unit standard has been reclassified from the expiring Forest Harvesting – General domain to the new Forest Harvesting Operations domain.

·        Reference material mentioned within the unit standard has been updated.
