Summary of review and consultation process

The unit standards were reviewed to ensure that they met current industry needs.  A full consultation process was arranged between Competenz and industry representatives to review the unit standards and collate feedback received.

The review process was used to ensure that the standards were current and that they were suitable for inclusion in existing and proposed qualifications.  In particular, the review ensured that their content was accurate and appropriate, and that levels and credits were commensurate with performance outcomes.

Main changes resulting from the review

The review process has resulted in the following changes to the unit standards.

·        Unit standard 20299 has increased in level and credit value, and unit standard 20300 has increased in credit value.  These changes have been made to better reflect the level of judgement required by the candidate, and the extent of supervision and overall learning demand.
