Summary of review and consultation process
This review was initiated in 2005 after it was noticed that legislation referred to in the special notes was no longer current, and assessors had reported a lack of clarity in the wording of the standard.
Consultation has taken place with assessors in the snowsport industry, outdoor recreation providers, the Fire and Rescue Services Industry Training Organisation, and the Public Sector Training Organisation (including contribution from the Department of Conservation).
Main changes resulting from the review
The changes resulting from the review include
· The deletion of outdated legislation from special note 2, and the addition of current applicable legislation
· Clarification of language
· The removal of requirements that were not necessary parts of assessment ie communicating with base and field sets, and the detail required to be communicated.
Impact on accreditation and on qualifications
There is no impact on existing provider accreditations or qualifications as a result of this review.
