Summary of review and consultation process

The review took place because the unit standards had passed their anticipated review dates, and feedback had indicated that minor changes were required to some unit standards to clarify their intention, and to meet current industry requirements.

Main changes resulting from the review

·        Minimum evidence requirements specified in range statements have been clarified.

·        The term ‘enterprise procedures’ has been changed to ‘company procedures’ in all relevant unit standards.

·        A new performance criterion relating to safety has been added to unit standard 3789.

·        A new prerequisite, and clarification of intended target group for the unit standard, have been added to unit standard 3792.

·        Credits for unit standard 16617 have increased from 6 to 15.

·        Unit standard 20526 has been referenced as a recommended alternative for unit standard 3796, which has been designated expiring.

·        Unit standards 14538 and 14539 have been designated expiring and will not be replaced.

Unit standards categorised as category D expire at the end of December 2011.
