Review of Meat Retailing qualification

 

National Certificate in Meat Retailing (Management) [Ref: 0716]

 

The Retail Meat Industry Training Organisation (RMITO) has reviewed the qualification listed above that was registered in January 2000.

The review of this qualification is planned to take place in                        December 2009

 

Reason for the review

 

The RMITO met with its training providers to review the National Certificate in Meat Retailing (Management) [Ref: 0716]in early December 2005 as this qualification was due to expire.  No substantive changes were recommended at the meeting but subfields and domains in the elective section have been updated to reflect changes in the classification system since version 1 was published.

 

Main changes resulting from the review

 

Changes to structure and content

·        Removal from the elective section of lapsing subfield, Retail and Wholesale and lapsed domains, Assessment of Adult Learning, Finance - Māori, and Food Handling.

·        Inclusion in elective section of subfield, Retail, Distribution, and Sales and domains, Assessment of Learning and Food Safety.

·        Changes to wording and formatting to ensure consistency with the NZQA qualification template.

 

Transition

 

People currently enrolled in programmes leading to the award of version 1 of this qualification may either complete that version, or transfer to version 2.  The last date for the award qualification version 1 is December 2008.

 

This qualification contains classifications that replace earlier classifications.  For the purposes of version 2 of this qualification people who have gained credit for standards in the lapsed classifications may continue to use those credits to meet the qualification requirements.
