The New Zealand Industry Training Organisation (NZITO) has completed the review of the qualifications listed above that were registered in November 1999, and November 2000.
Date new versions published March 2006
The above qualifications were reviewed because of the extensive review of the Fellmongery Processing standards and the need to meet the requirements of new and existing companies that have decided to undertake National Qualifications Framework (NQF) qualifications.
A series of consultation meetings with representatives of both large and small companies that provide fellmongery processing has resulted in several changes to the qualifications that better reflect sector role responsibilities.
The new versions were drafted in conjunction with the industry's Meat Advisory Group, which consists of company representatives, providers, and assessors. The Advisory Group endorsed the new versions of the qualifications in November 2005 after evaluating feedback from the wider industry.
