Review of Joinery qualifications

This review report was first published in March 2006.  However, the transition dates in the qualifications were incorrect.  Those errors have now been corrected and the qualifications reissued on the Framework.

Date versions reissued                                                            April 2006

The following report now states the correct transition dates.

National Certificate in Joinery (Craftsperson) [Ref: 0386]

National Certificate in Joinery with strands in Cabinetry, Exterior Joinery, and Stairs [Ref: 0387]

National Certificate in Joinery (Laminate Fabrication) [Ref: 0390]

The Joinery Industry Training Organisation has completed the review of the qualifications listed above that were registered in October 1997 and September 2000.

Date reviewed versions published                        March 2006

The review was carried out because feedback from industry, training providers, and moderators indicated that additional standards needed to be added to the qualifications to reflect changes in industry practice.

All stakeholders were consulted by mail and email.  Industry people and training providers with specific expertise attended a review meeting, and were also consulted individually for their comments and feedback.

The Joinery Industry Training Organisation is now satisfied that the views of all stakeholders have been taken into consideration for the new versions of the qualifications.
